Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Culinary Expert to join our team at Belterra Casino Resort. As a key member of our culinary staff, you will be responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality dishes to our guests.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook a variety of menu items, including grilled, fried, broiled, baked, boiled, braised, poached, and prepared in the pantry.
  • Ensure that all dishes are presented in an aesthetically appealing manner and cooked to the specifications of the customer and the chef.
  • Recognize and properly place a variety of sauces on all entrees featured on daily menus.
  • Keep work stations neat and clean, and assist coworkers to ensure efficient operation of the kitchen.
  • Ensure the cleanliness of working areas, report equipment for safety failures, hazardous areas, and accidents.
  • Properly store foods, including those from previous functions, and ensure that items are fully stocked and equipment is in good working condition.
  • Properly close down work stations at the end of each shift.

Requirements

  • Basic food preparation knowledge and line work experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain all licenses/certifications per Federal, State, and Gaming regulations.
  • Must be at least 16 years of age.

These skills are typically acquired through a minimum of one-year prior experience as a cook trainee or coffee shop line cook, and/or through the completion of a degree in culinary arts or recognized apprenticeship.
