Key Responsibilities

As a Culinary Operations Supervisor, you will collaborate closely with our Food Services Manager, overseeing preparation schedules and ensuring quality across all food and supplies. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing production/service and inventory documents prior to each meal.
  • Supervising and managing inmate work crews in the Food Services department.
  • Maintaining additional records such as service plans, tray assessments, restricted diets, daily sanitation, and meal delivery.
  • Conducting orientation and training programs for inmate workers.
  • Ensuring compliance with safety standards and monitoring equipment maintenance.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Possession of a valid Arizona State driver's license.
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge of the facility's recipes, policies, and procedures.
  • Effective communication of minimum production/service requirements to all personnel.
  • One (1) year of prior experience in managing and/or quantity food production in a commercial, military, or institutional setting is beneficial.
  • Prior training in correctional food service is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Proficiency in using computers and relevant software typically utilized by the department.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequently: Lift or carry and push/pull up to 60 lbs.; sit.
  • Occasionally: Lift, carry, push/pull up to 60 lbs. (sometimes more); bend, stoop, reach above shoulder level, climb, walk, and stand.
