POSITION OVERVIEW:

As a Guest Services Representative at New York-New York, your primary responsibility will be to deliver exceptional customer service by ensuring smooth check-ins and check-outs. You will greet each guest warmly and, by recognizing their individual needs and stories, create WOW moments and unforgettable experiences that they will cherish long after their visit.

COMPENSATION: Starting at $19 per hour

DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Guest Reception: Provide a friendly and memorable welcome to guests, anticipating their needs and addressing any concerns in accordance with S.H.O.W. Service Basics.
  • Room Management: Oversee the check-in and check-out processes for guests, including managing early and late arrivals/departures and walk-ins, ensuring a seamless and professional experience.
  • Inquiry Response: Answer phone calls and promptly respond to guest inquiries, offering assistance and information to enhance their stay.
  • Experience Improvement: Suggest room upgrades when available and promote M life enrollment and benefits to enhance the guest experience.
  • Interdepartmental Collaboration: Work closely with Housekeeping and other departments to meet guest expectations and fulfill special requests.
  • Financial Management: Ensure accurate posting of charges and credits, manage payments, handle cash and credit transactions, and balance all cash and cash equivalents according to property cash handling procedures.
  • Key Control: Manage and issue keys, maintaining the security, privacy, and confidentiality of all guests.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Work Schedule: Availability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Education: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.

  • Customer Service Skills: Proven ability to provide exceptional service and handle guest inquiries professionally.
  • Cash Handling Experience: Skilled in managing cash transactions and accurately balancing cash drawers.
  • POS System Proficiency: Familiarity with using POS systems for transactions and reservations.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities for effective guest interactions.
  • Attention to Detail: Accurate in managing guest accounts and verifying charges.
