Job Title: Bookkeeper/Business Manager

Job Summary:

The Bookkeeper/Business Manager will provide financial and administrative support to the Virginia Children's Theatre. This part-time position will be responsible for accounting and administrative tasks, including financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance with financial guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process accounts payable and receivable, including entering and verifying bills, invoices, and purchase orders.
  • Reconcile checking, savings, customer, and vendor accounts.
  • Maintain financial records in paper and cloud-based file systems.
  • Assist in preparation of support work for the audit and annual 990 filing.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for review by external third-party and the VCT Board of Directors.

Requirements:

  • QuickBooks Pro experience (minimum 2 years)
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Effective communication skills (orally and in writing) in English.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.

Education and Experience:

  • An associate's degree or two years of college coursework or 3-5 years of work experience in lieu of degree or college coursework.
  • Two to five years of progressive experience and responsibility in a bookkeeping and administration position.

Work Environment:

This position is regularly performed in an office environment and is regularly exposed to noise.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, and see. The employee is frequently required to sit and stand; walk; use hands to type, finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
