Position Overview:
The EHS Compliance Specialist will foster a culture of safety aimed at achieving a Zero Harm environment, ensuring a workplace devoid of recognized hazards while promoting safe work practices.
Employment Type: Direct hire
Work Schedule: Full-time, onsite
Responsibilities:
- Conduct safety audits and inspections as required.
- Ensure proper identification and management of hazardous materials.
- Lead investigations into incidents, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local safety regulations.
- Educate staff on maintaining a safe working environment to cultivate a safety-oriented culture.
- Demonstrate the proper use of safety equipment and ensure adherence by employees.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of safety programs and training initiatives.
- Support continuous improvement efforts to enhance safety protocols.
- Collaborate with management on safety-related matters.
- Perform all duties in accordance with established safety standards.
- Actively promote adherence to Environmental, Health, and Safety regulations.
- Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field with 2-4 years of relevant experience, or an Associate degree with a minimum of 7 years of direct EHS experience.
- Proficient understanding of safety regulations and protocols.
- Experience in conducting safety inspections and ensuring compliance with OSHA standards.
- Ability to develop and enforce safety programs effectively.
- Strong data collection and report preparation skills.
- Excellent communication abilities, both verbal and written.
- Physical capability to perform tasks such as lifting and standing.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards.
- Experience in a global corporate environment.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
