The Opportunity

We are seeking licensed mental health professionals for regular full-time and part-time positions. Candidates must have demonstrated experience working on international humanitarian assistance operations or with professionals working in that sector.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Active mental health professional licensure
  • A Master of Social Work degree
  • Work experience at USAID or with a USAID partner
  • At least six years providing counseling in a humanitarian context or supporting those engaged in humanitarian response
  • Demonstrated skills in individual counseling and group therapy
  • Experience delivering trauma-informed counseling
  • Experience providing psychological first aid training
  • Proficiency in English

  • Experience providing pre- and post-assignment consultations
  • Based in the Washington, DC (DMV) area
  • An active Secret US Government security clearance
  • Able to travel internationally at short notice
  • Experience supporting individuals and mission-specific teams in the aftermath of critical incidents
  • Experience in consulting on work-related stress
  • Sensitive to cultural differences and beliefs
