Job Title: Special Operations Licensed Mental Health Counselor

We are seeking a highly qualified Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team in the National Capital Region. As a Special Operations Licensed Mental Health Counselor, you will be responsible for providing behavioral health services to active-duty Special Operations personnel, retired military members, and their families.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement policies, conduct screenings, and provide clinical counseling and case management services.
  • Serve as a point of contact for behavioral health services.
  • Provide a spectrum of behavioral health interventions, including interviewing, behavioral assessment, and evidenced-based therapies.
  • Plan, develop, and implement programs to foster positive healthy relationships within the family structure and unit connectedness.
  • Promote and maintain communication and harmonious working relationships within the unit, POTFF program, and other DoD and outside agencies.
Requirements:
  • Master's Degree in one of the behavioral sciences.
  • Meet Credentialing and Privileging standards.
  • LMFT Requirements: Master's or doctoral degree in marriage and family therapy from a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education (COAMFTE), or a qualifying graduate degree in an allied mental health field from a regionally accredited education institution in conjunction with a program of marriage and family therapy study that is equivalent to the COAMFTE standards as defined by the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT).
  • LPC Requirements: Passed the National Clinical Mental Health Counselor Examination (NCMHCE) or an examination determined by the Director, Defense Health Agency or designee as equal in scope, intent, and content to the NCMHCE.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret or Top-Secret Clearance.
  • Shall have and maintain current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) as required for credentialing at servicing medical treatment facilities.
