Volt is currently seeking a Procurement Contract Specialist.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Experience in industrial manufacturing and forklift operations is essential.
  • Generate, revise, and track purchase orders to guarantee precise data and reporting.
  • Engage with suppliers via email and phone to inquire about delivery timelines and current pricing.
  • Address supply and delivery challenges with vendors by proactively identifying solutions and emphasizing the urgency of deliveries to maintain project timelines.
  • Oversee the Purchasing group mailbox to gather data and transfer it to the ERP system.
  • Collaborate with various departments within the organization (Receiving, Performance Excellence, Engineering, Production, and Accounts Payable) to fulfill work tasks and projects.
  • Document and refine job-related processes and procedures.
  • Distribute large component quote packages for bidding to multiple suppliers. Collect, manage, and organize the returned information.
This is a Full-Time position.

Work Schedule:

In-office during standard business hours.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement and supporting a technical operations environment with lead time constraints.
  • 3 years of relevant experience in RFQ processes and vendor competitive bidding.
  • 3-5 years of experience in purchasing or procurement.
  • Customer service experience with both internal and external clients.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration abilities.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems such as JDE or SAP in material management or production planning.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Microsoft 365 including Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Proactive approach to contacting suppliers with a sense of urgency and assertiveness.
  • Able to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and understand mechanical technical drawings.
  • Basic understanding of part fabrication processes, including milling, lathe, and laser sheet metal fabrication.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced skills in Excel, including VLookup and pivot table analysis.
  • Experience in demand forecasting.
  • Strong influential communication skills.
  • 5+ years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • 3+ years of experience in strategic or preferred vendor management.
  • Some college education or higher.
Compensation: $28.00 / Hourly

*Compensation offered to a successful candidate will be determined based on various factors, including education, work experience, job location, specific job responsibilities, and certifications.
