Key Responsibilities
  • Conducts thorough reviews of data entry outputs for precision, ensuring that source documents align with the recorded information.
  • Actively participates in a collaborative team environment, fostering mutual respect and support among colleagues to deliver exceptional services to the healthcare sector.
Qualifications

Required Experience

  • Comprehensive understanding of medical coding, billing, and payment protocols; familiarity with AMA CPT and HCPCS billing, clinical documentation standards, claims processing, payment reconciliation, and follow-up for insured and uninsured patients.
  • Experience in medical office or facility billing and coding tasks.

Education

Entry-Level Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years of experience in medical billing and/or coding.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Professional-Level Requirements:

  • Relevant experience in Healthcare Operations and/or Healthcare Financial Management.
  • Certification as a medical coder is advantageous.

Work Environment

This position is situated in a professional office setting, primarily involving sedentary tasks. Standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, and photocopiers are routinely utilized.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands outlined here represent those that must be met by an employee to successfully execute the essential functions of this role. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to communicate verbally and audibly. Frequent standing, walking, and the use of hands for handling or reaching are also necessary. The role may require occasional lifting of office supplies, up to ten (10) pounds.

Travel Requirements

Travel may be necessary for this position, not exceeding 10%.
