We are a rapidly expanding dermatology practice seeking a dedicated full-time Medical Billing Specialist to enhance our operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage insurance accounts receivable and resolve claim denials.
- Prepare and submit electronic claims accurately.
- Stay informed on the latest CPT, ICD, and LCD coding standards.
- Conduct chart and coding reviews to ensure compliance.
- Verify patient eligibility and benefits, obtaining prior authorizations as needed.
- Communicate with patients to confirm insurance details and provide support regarding billing inquiries.
- Maintain a high level of customer service for patients regarding their accounts.
- Work diligently to minimize the backlog of unpaid claims.
- Analyze Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and Electronic Remittance Advices (ERAs).
- Post payments accurately and efficiently.
- Uphold HIPAA standards to protect patient confidentiality.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Proficient understanding of CPT, ICD, and LCD coding.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and G Suite.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to adapt to evolving processes and procedures.
- Knowledge of various insurance plans and basic accounting principles.
- Comprehensive understanding of the medical billing cycle and HCFA1500 forms.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Positive demeanor and ability to work collaboratively as well as independently.
- Familiarity with government programs such as Medicare, Medicaid, and Tricare.
- Strong grasp of commercial insurance policies.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification such as CPC, CBCS, or CCA.
- Experience in dermatology billing.
Education:
High School Diploma required.
Job Type:
Full-time position with competitive pay starting from $17.00 per hour.
