Role Overview: The Outreach Specialist plays a crucial role in engaging potential program participants, assessing eligibility, managing enrollment processes, conducting orientation sessions, and ensuring the collection of necessary documentation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Directs all outreach activities to achieve established objectives.
  • Regularly interacts with participants to provide consistent support throughout their program journey, focusing on removing barriers to success.
  • Conducts assessments to identify obstacles and updates individual opportunity plans accordingly.
  • Facilitates the recruitment of qualified participants through various channels, including internal referrals, community partnerships, resource fairs, and grassroots marketing efforts.
  • Guides prospective participants through orientation, eligibility verification, documentation gathering, and selection of training pathways.
  • Creates and maintains an informative orientation presentation to familiarize participants with program requirements and enrollment processes.
  • Oversees the completion of program assessments, ensuring all individual opportunity plans are finalized.
  • Handles administrative tasks such as audits, peer reviews, and maintaining participant records; responds promptly to communications; attends training and meetings; and prepares monthly reports.
  • Maintains accurate documentation of services provided and compiles monthly reporting data.
  • Secures all necessary documentation for eligible participants and ensures meticulous record-keeping.
  • Enters intake and orientation data into an electronic database and follows up with participants regarding documentation and class invitations.
  • Inputs participant information into relevant systems, including eligibility, demographics, services, and program outcomes.
  • Develops and updates marketing materials to align with current program needs.
  • Fosters strong community relationships and collaborative partnerships, maintaining effective connections with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Aims to meet contractual outcome requirements, which will be reviewed during supervision and team meetings.
  • Ensures confidentiality of client interactions in accordance with agency standards.
  • Participates in staff training and team meetings.
  • Demonstrates consistent attendance and a positive, flexible attitude, ready to take on additional responsibilities as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proficient understanding of the English language, including grammar, composition, and spelling.
  • Competent in computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite and basic database management.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with participants and families in diverse settings regarding program plans and participant performance.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Performance and Physical Requirements:
  • Job involves walking, bending, and remaining stationary for extended periods, including interacting with children of various ages.
  • Work environment varies and may include community settings, offices, and participant homes.
  • Frequent travel is required to various locations, necessitating a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Flexible working hours may include days, evenings, and weekends to accommodate client needs.
  • Regular verbal interaction with colleagues, external agency representatives, and families is essential.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum age of 21 and an associate degree in Social Work, Human Services, or a related field; a bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Experience working with low-income individuals and young adults is essential.
  • Must possess a valid Ohio Driver's License with a clean driving record and valid insurance.
  • Reliable transportation is necessary for client transport.
  • Ability to pass a physical exam, tuberculosis test, and drug screening is required.
  • Employment is contingent upon satisfactory results from a comprehensive background check.
