Position Summary:

We are looking for skilled candidates to operate lowboy trailers for transporting heavy construction machinery between various job sites and to deliver asphalt using an 8-axle live bottom trailer to our paving teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate and maneuver various heavy machinery.
  • Load and unload equipment onto lowboy trailers, ensuring secure transport.
  • Transport heavy machinery between designated job locations.
  • Deliver asphalt from the plant to paving crews using an 8-axle live bottom trailer.
  • Transport aggregates from quarries to the asphalt plant.
  • Perform routine maintenance and lubrication on equipment.
Additional Requirements:
  • Effective communication and coordination with dispatch personnel.
  • Adherence to all traffic laws and regulations.
  • Properly secure cargo and maintain balance within the vehicle.
  • Keep detailed logs of working hours in compliance with regulations.
  • Conduct pre and post-trip inspections of vehicles.
  • Report any mechanical issues, accidents, or violations promptly.
  • Ensure loads are accurate and properly documented.
  • Exhibit professionalism and courtesy towards colleagues and the public.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
  • Arrive at job sites prepared to begin work at scheduled times.
  • Commitment to safety practices and company policies.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Compliance with personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Proven experience operating heavy machinery is essential.
  • Valid CDL - Class A License.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Minimum of one year of driving experience.
Mathematical Skills:

Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations and understand measurements related to weight, volume, and distance.

Physical Requirements:

This role requires frequent physical activity, including reaching, stooping, kneeling, and lifting.

Work Environment:

Employees may work outdoors in various weather conditions and near moving machinery, with potential exposure to noise, humidity, and other environmental factors.
