Position Overview: The Operations Manager - Hauling is tasked with overseeing collection activities for commercial, industrial, and residential clients across a designated area. This role involves managing a team of Operations Supervisors, Dispatchers, Operations Clerks, Drivers, and Helpers, ensuring the effective operation of the route system for various customer segments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team by handling hiring, training, coaching, and performance management, while addressing safety issues effectively.
  • Implement strategic plans to align with the business unit's objectives, driving initiatives that enhance customer experience and profitability.
  • Optimize productivity and route management for all service types, setting and monitoring performance goals.
  • Engage with customers and regulatory bodies to resolve service concerns and ensure compliance with standards.
  • Oversee safety programs to mitigate accidents and injuries, ensuring a secure work environment for all staff.
  • Ensure adherence to all operational standards, including environmental, regulatory, and ethical guidelines.
  • Manage departmental budgets, including expense approvals and vendor negotiations.
  • Develop a high-performing team culture, focusing on talent development and best-practice sharing.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with government, community, and environmental organizations.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • A minimum of 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
