About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Staff Psychologist to join our team at the Veterans Health Administration. As a key member of our mental health team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Evidence-Based Care: You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to provide evidence-based care to patients with a range of mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
  • Conduct Assessments and Diagnoses: You will conduct comprehensive assessments and diagnoses to identify the underlying causes of patients' mental health issues and develop effective treatment plans.
  • Develop and Implement Treatment Plans: You will work with patients to develop and implement individualized treatment plans that address their unique needs and goals.
  • Collaborate with Other Healthcare Professionals: You will work closely with other healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, social workers, and nurses, to ensure that patients receive comprehensive and coordinated care.
  • Provide Education and Support: You will provide education and support to patients and their families to help them understand their mental health conditions and develop coping strategies.
  • Participate in Quality Improvement Initiatives: You will participate in quality improvement initiatives to ensure that our mental health services are meeting the highest standards of care.
Requirements
  • Doctoral Degree in Psychology: You must have a doctoral degree in psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Licensure: You must be licensed to practice psychology in the state where the position is located.
  • Experience: You must have at least one year of experience as a professional psychologist, with at least one year equivalent to the GS-12 grade level.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: You must have knowledge of and ability to apply professional psychological treatments to the full range of patient populations, as well as the ability to provide professional advice and consultation in areas related to professional psychology and behavioral health.
