Psychologist - Coordinator for Intimate Partner Violence

Position Overview:

The Department of Veterans Affairs Southeast Louisiana Healthcare System (SLVHCS) is in search of a dedicated full-time Staff Psychologist to serve as the Intimate Partner Violence Coordinator within our Community Based Outpatient Clinic. This role is pivotal in delivering specialized psychological care to patients affected by intimate partner violence (IPV).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive intake evaluations and develop tailored treatment plans.
  • Perform diagnostic assessments and provide psychotherapy aimed at addressing the complexities of IPV.
  • Engage in patient education and offer collateral consultations with significant others, ensuring to obtain client consent.

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm (flexibility in hours may be negotiated post-selection).

Telework Options: Available.

Compensation and Benefits:

Salary range: $75,928 - $140,682

  • Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP): Assistance with medical school loan repayments up to $200K over a maximum of 5 years.

Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship is required (non-citizen candidates may be considered).
  • Possession of a full and unrestricted license from any U.S. State.
  • A Doctoral degree in psychology from an APA-accredited program.
  • Completion of an APA or CPA accredited professional psychology internship.
  • Experience in measurement-based care to enhance treatment is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide evidence-based care for various diagnoses in a general mental health environment is preferred.
  • A strong commitment to teamwork and the well-being of Veterans is essential.
