About the Role

Crescent City Schools is seeking a highly skilled School Psychologist to join our team. As a key member of our Special Education department, you will play a critical role in supporting the academic and social-emotional needs of our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Initial Evaluations and Reevaluations: Coordinate and complete evaluations and reevaluations in a compliant and timely manner, ensuring that all necessary components are obtained and eligibility determinations are made.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Interact with school-based and outside related service providers to obtain necessary evaluation components and make team-based eligibility determinations.
  • IEP Meetings: Attend and participate in IEP meetings as the evaluation representative, ensuring that student needs are met and goals are aligned with district and state regulations.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Collaborate with the school-based Directors of Special Education to ensure that the school complies with all relevant local, state, and federal regulations governing students with disabilities or who are under the evaluation process.
  • Consultation and Support: Consult with school leaders and individual teachers regarding high-priority students, providing guidance and support to ensure student success.
  • Social-Emotional Skills Groups: Conduct social-emotional skills groups as needed, promoting student well-being and academic achievement.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Take on other tasks as needed, contributing to the overall success of the Special Education department.

Requirements
  • Education and Certification: Possess a Specialist or PhD in school psychology and certification in school psychology from the state of Louisiana or have the necessary requirements to apply and obtain one.
  • Experience: Demonstrate past success working with students in non-selective schools.
Physical Requirements
  • Regularly Required: Sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
  • This is an In-Person Role: Work in a school setting, interacting with students, teachers, and staff.
