Your knowledge will play a crucial role in maintaining the safe, effective, and sustainable functioning of essential water and wastewater management systems within commercial and institutional settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with cross-functional teams, including civil, mechanical, process, and automation engineers, to identify electrical requirements, project goals, critical success factors, and to create the necessary electrical deliverables.
  • Enhance your professional capabilities under the guidance and mentorship of experienced electrical engineering experts.
  • Contribute to the evaluation and analysis of electrical systems to adapt to changes in electrical demand, enhance energy efficiency, and integrate renewable and sustainable energy sources to achieve electrical resilience, while adhering to new and evolving electrical codes.
  • Design electrical power generation and distribution frameworks, including medium-voltage secondary unit substations, medium and low-voltage power distribution apparatus such as switchgear and motor control centers, protective relaying and metering, electric service calculations, generators and transfer systems, lightning and surge protection systems, motors and motor controls including variable frequency drives, indoor/outdoor lighting systems, fire alarm systems, wiring methods, and grounding systems.
  • Prepare design documentation (specifications, construction drawings, cost estimates) and basis of design reports to facilitate the construction of new electrical systems.
  • Utilize AutoCAD and Revit to produce detailed electrical design documents that specify equipment mounting locations, power and controls one-line diagrams, elementary wiring diagrams, panel schedules, etc.
  • Conduct power studies, including system modeling and written reports for load flow analysis, short circuit, coordination, and arc flash studies.
  • Work collaboratively with distributed teams and may require regional travel to perform site assessments, witness electrical tests and demonstrations, and evaluate compliance with design documents.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with 7-10 years of relevant experience.
  • Willingness and personal interest in pursuing EIT certification and Professional Engineering license.
  • Strong understanding of NFPA 70 and other electrical industry codes, local regulations, and industry standards.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Familiarity with SKM Power Tools is advantageous.
  • Exceptional problem-solving, reasoning, and analytical skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to thrive in a collaborative environment.
  • Valid driver's license and capability to travel within the US without restrictions.

Compensation:

The anticipated base pay range is $100,000-$125,000 per year for the White Plains, NY office and $85,000 – $100,000 per year for the Syracuse, NY office, commensurate with experience.
