Job Summary
Family Health Centers of San Diego is seeking a highly skilled Accountant II to perform various accounting-related tasks, including analysis, reconciliation, and ensuring the accuracy of assigned general ledger accounts and accounting programs. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing guidance and leadership to lower-level accounting staff, serving as a liaison to internal and external customers, and coordinating external audits.

Responsibilities
  • Communicate effectively with both internal and external customers, following up on questions and discrepancies.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis, reviews, and audits of assigned programs, processes, or accounting functions (such as payroll, A/P, Grant, etc.).
  • Maintain documentation and resolve identified issues promptly and correctly.
  • Guide lower-level staff on issue resolution and liaisons with internal departments and external customers in identifying, researching, and resolving discrepancies and issues.
  • Coordinate external audits.
  • Prepare schedules for audits.
  • Serve as a liaison with internal customers and external auditors/customers for audits.
  • Research and prepare materials for audits.
  • Gather and compile data from a variety of sources.
  • Prepare, distribute, and maintain a variety of periodic and ad-hoc reports.

Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required. Alternatively, an equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the skills, knowledge, and ability to perform the essential job duties and meets any required state or federal certification requirements. Three years of specific functional accounting experience may be required depending on assignment (i.e., Grant Accounting, Payroll, Budgets, etc.). Five years of Accounting experience required. Healthcare experience strongly preferred. The estimated salary for this role is $64,480 - $85,973 per year, based on factors such as geographic location, jurisdictional requirements, skills, education, and/or experience. In addition to these factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as part of any final offer. Please note that the range mentioned above is what we reasonably expect to pay for the role.
