Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Food Safety Quality Assurance Manager to join our team at Lorentz Meats. This individual will provide leadership and direction to ensure the company's food safety goals are met and regulatory compliance is maintained.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a system of quality and reliability for the company's products.
  • Oversee the SQF system, including food safety fundamentals, the food safety plan, and the food quality plan.
  • Lead the company in building a strong food safety culture by collaborating with department supervisors and leads.
  • Communicate with regulatory agencies and ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and organizational laws, regulations, guidelines, and policies.
Requirements
  • SQF Practitioner certification.
  • HACCP Certified.
  • Proven knowledge and application of food safety/science.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
Work Environment

This role operates in a casual office and production environment. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Education and/or Experience

A Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, science, or a field related to the meat industry is preferred. Three to five years of experience in the meat industry, preferably with supervisory experience, is required.
