Position: Structural Steel Quality Control Inspector
Compensation: $23.00 to $25.00/hr, with an additional $1.50 per hour for night shifts. Pay adjustments may occur after a performance evaluation.
Shift: Night Shift – Monday to Thursday, 5:00 PM to 4:00 AM. Early arrivals may be compensated for up to one hour.
Role Purpose: The Structural Steel Quality Control Inspector is responsible for conducting dimensional inspections on structural components and assemblies to ensure compliance with provided specifications. This includes verifying shape, size, fit-up, hole placement, surface finish, and coatings according to technical drawings. The inspector will also perform weld inspections in accordance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Safety: Strive for zero accidents by utilizing assigned protective equipment and adhering to safety protocols. Proactively suggest safety improvements and report incidents promptly.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough inspections of fabricated components, welds, surface preparations, and coatings to ensure the delivery of high-quality products.
- Efficiency: Perform inspections promptly to maintain production schedules and avoid delays in delivery.
- Cost Management: Optimize inspection processes to minimize costs while maintaining quality standards.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience: At least two years in related fields such as fabrication, welding, or inspection.
- Three or more years of experience in layout and welding.
- Proficient understanding of weld symbols and the ability to interpret fabrication drawings.
- Strong mathematical skills, including geometry and trigonometry.
- Ability to make informed decisions regarding inspection processes.
- Commitment to company values and standards.
- AWS Certified Welding Inspector certification.
- Knowledge of Non-Destructive Testing methods.
- International Code Council certifications in relevant inspections.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
