Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Maintain Preventative Maintenance Programs: Create and implement preventative maintenance programs for all plant equipment, ensuring timely execution by maintenance technicians and operators.
  • Facility Safety and Security: Monitor the facility to ensure it remains safe, secure, and well-maintained.
  • Task Coordination and Assignment: Coordinate and assign daily tasks with department supervisors for all maintenance technicians as needed for production support and special projects.
  • Work Request and Work Order Management: Oversee and coordinate the work request and work order programs to ensure quality and timeliness.
  • Maintenance Technician Training and Management: Train and manage maintenance technicians on all shifts on maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment and utility systems.
  • Equipment Installation and Repair: Install and repair machines, equipment, or structures using necessary tools.
  • Cost Estimation and Record-Keeping: Estimate and record costs to repair machines or equipment.
  • Utility System Training and Credentialing: Develop training programs for all utility systems, including ammonia refrigeration and boiler systems, and credential staff accordingly.
  • Business Planning and Project Management: Support the general manager in business planning for future building and equipment investments and expansions, and manage projects as necessary, directing staff and/or working with general contractors.
  • Continuous Improvement and SOP Development: Develop an ongoing continuous improvement plan for the maintenance department and create SOPs for prioritization and resource allocation.
  • Plant Safety, Food Safety, and Good Manufacturing Practices: Promote general plant safety, food safety, and good manufacturing practices, and report issues related to the food safety management system to the quality assurance manager or executive leadership team.
  • Spare Parts and Maintenance Materials Inventory Management: Manage spare parts and maintenance materials inventory.
  • Annual Maintenance Budget Development: Develop an annual maintenance budget for approval and work within the approved budget.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Certifications and Licenses: Must hold a minimum of a Certified Industrial Refrigeration Operator (CIRO) license and a Master class Boiler License.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years as a maintenance manager or supervisor in a fast-paced, rapid growth production or manufacturing environment.
  • Skills: Working knowledge and application of OSHA programs and safety operating practices, including machine guarding, lockout/tag-out, personal protective equipment, and safe maintenance practices. Ability to read and understand manuals, drawings, and P&ID documents. Ability to follow proper safety procedures and requirements. Ability to establish, lead, and maintain effective working relationships in a team environment. Self-motivated with ability to allow constructive feedback to grow in position. Must have forklift certification and experience and be willing to obtain with our organization.
