Position Overview

The Diesel Mechanic role is essential in ensuring that vehicles operate safely and efficiently, meeting the demands of drivers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance on heavy-duty vehicles.
  • Develop work plans after thoroughly assessing vehicle conditions.
  • Examine vehicle systems, including suspensions, steering, and exhaust components.
  • Repair or replace critical vehicle components such as transmissions, brakes, and engines.
  • Respond to emergencies or breakdowns with field visits.
  • Carry out oil changes, wheel balancing, alignments, and brake inspections.
  • Maintain accurate records of parts inventory and serviced vehicles.
  • Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and curiosity, contributing to a positive work environment.
  • Perform additional tasks as required.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of vehicle operations.
  • Basic knowledge of motor vehicles, electrical systems, and diesel engine functionality.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
  • Familiarity with hand tools, air tools, and electrical power tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Attention to detail is crucial.
  • Basic understanding of computer systems and relevant electronics.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to climb ladders, lift up to 75 lbs, bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
  • Capability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and in various weather conditions.
  • Demonstrate good work habits, including consistent attendance and productivity.
