The Heavy Equipment Service Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the operational efficiency of various heavy machinery. The primary responsibilities include diagnosing and resolving mechanical issues on a diverse range of equipment, delivering exceptional service to our clients. Work responsibilities will be divided between the company workshop and client job sites, with travel required for field service tasks. Company-provided transportation will be utilized for field assignments, which may occasionally necessitate overnight stays. Continuous professional development through factory training sessions is expected.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues based on client feedback.
- Utilize expertise in hydraulics and electrical systems to diagnose equipment failures.
- Employ hand tools and machinery effectively.
- Initiate procurement of necessary components for repairs.
- Complete all required documentation accurately.
- Verify that all equipment functions are operating correctly.
- Inspect for leaks and ensure fittings are secure.
- Confirm that all specifications and torque settings are adhered to.
- Conduct pressure tests and document results.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding job challenges.
- Assist in organizing daily work schedules and promote future service opportunities.
- Engage directly with customers, providing updates and recommendations.
- Suggest improvements to procedures or job functions for enhanced efficiency.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.
- Possession of a current Federal Medical Examination Card is required.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of hydraulic and electrical systems.
- Familiarity with basic hydraulic principles and 12-volt electrical systems.
- Ability to interpret wiring diagrams and operate programming tools.
- Knowledge of hydraulic fittings and hose specifications.
- Competence in using cutting tools for metal fabrication.
- Experience with plasma cutting and oxy-acetylene welding.
- Capability to adjust hydraulic pressures and relief settings.
- Basic mathematical skills for calculations and measurements.
- Ability to read and comprehend technical schematics.
- Practical experience in mechanical design or hydraulic systems.
- Preferred technical degree or completion of a structured training program.
- A minimum of two years of experience in field service for heavy machinery.
- Perform all job functions with a strong emphasis on safety.
- Utilize all required Personal Protective Equipment (P.P.E.) as per company policy.
- Adhere to established safety protocols and procedures.
- Participate in safety training and demonstrate competency.
- Report safety concerns and unsafe practices to management.
- Ability to obtain a DOT medical card is necessary.
