Job Summary

Xylem I LLC is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team in vegetation management. As a Bucket Truck Operator, you will be responsible for operating heavy equipment to remove branches and tree material from electrical lines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate Heavy Equipment: Safely operate bucket trucks and other heavy equipment to remove branches and tree material from electrical lines.
  • Maintain Equipment: Perform daily maintenance and repairs on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Assist Crew Members: Assist other crew members in all aspects of daily activities and take a leadership role when required.
  • Ensure Safety: Always follow and help enforce safe practices and rules to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Track and Report: Track and report mileage to the Foreperson and perform duties for storm work as needed.
Requirements
  • Experience: Prior heavy equipment operating experience in electric utility vegetation management, construction, logging, landscaping, mechanical, or military industries preferred.
  • Education: High School diploma or education equivalent preferred.
  • Skills: Must be knowledgeable about the daily maintenance and safe operations of all equipment used, possess physical strength and good balance to climb into and around mobile equipment, and be able to work outdoors under varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and to climb in and out of a vehicle numerous times a day. The employee must be able to wear necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) and have good vision and be attentive.
