Job Overview

Position Summary:

The Production Operator plays a crucial role in overseeing and ensuring the effective functioning of machinery from the drying phase to the baling process. This position involves providing assistance and serving as a resource for fellow team members as necessary.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Comply with safety regulations and support colleagues to maintain safe operational practices.
  • Supervise the designated processing area to meet safety, quality, reliability, and production targets.
  • Gather fiber samples for analytical testing.
  • Examine bales before wrapping to detect any contamination or foreign substances and record any irregular findings.
  • Prepare products for final processing, which includes fiber blending, wrapping, data collection for database entry, and labeling for shipment.
  • Operate a clamp truck for the storage of finished bales in the warehouse and other specified areas.
  • Conduct cleaning of the processing area as needed, including dryers, dust systems, and general housekeeping tasks.
  • Reprocess off-grade fiber bales through the system as required.
  • Perform any additional duties and responsibilities relevant to the role as necessary.

Essential Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • A valid driver's license is necessary.
  • Experience in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing setting with equipment operation and hand tool usage while adhering to safety standards is advantageous.
  • Skills in maintenance and troubleshooting are beneficial.
  • Experience in product quality inspection and data tracking is preferred.
  • Familiarity with HMI – Siemens Control Systems is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing, and/or pulling for extended periods.
  • Strong time management skills and attention to detail are essential.
  • Proven capability to collaborate effectively in a team environment and self-manage to achieve objectives.
  • Integrity and honesty are paramount.
