Dreamville Staffing is seeking a skilled and experienced Vac-Truck Driver to join our client's team in Lumberton, North Carolina. Position Summary:

  • Under general supervision, the CDL Driver/Equipment Operator will perform essential tasks for industrial service operations such as tank cleaning and pumping, pipeline maintenance, manual remediation services, waste bulking, and demolition services. This role requires strict adherence to established company protocols.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a Commercial Driver's License with Tank endorsement and a stellar driving record.
  • Operate trucks, tankers, and other CDL-required vehicles proficiently.
  • Adhere to all relevant safety rules, regulations, guidelines, policies, and site-specific safety plans.
  • Load and unload equipment from vehicles and trailers efficiently.
  • Ensure the proper maintenance, repair, and optimal functioning of all assigned equipment.
  • Complete necessary paperwork, forms, and records accurately and as mandated.
  • Support site crews during non-driving tasks, demonstrating capability in manual labor.

Qualifications:

  • Candidates should possess a minimum of 3 years of documented experience operating a CDL-required vehicle.
  • Proficiency in operating a truck with a manual transmission is essential.
  • Experience hauling flatbeds, low boys, and tankers is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills in English are required to comprehend highway traffic and signals, interact with the public, answer official inquiries, and submit mandated reports.

Prior experience in the construction industry, environmental field, handling hazardous waste, certification (e.g., OSHA 40hr HAZWOPER), AHERA asbestos training with a current license, industrial vacuum truck operations, as well as heavy equipment handling and maintenance is advantageous.

The work environment at project sites can be demanding, typically dirty, dusty, noisy, and may involve exposure to hazardous substances or materials. Work conditions are subject to harsh weather variations. Duties may require dealing with hazardous materials and wearing personal protective gear.

This role requires availability for emergency response duties after-hours and occasionally on weekends.

A pre-employment drug screening, background check, motor vehicle records check, and Department of Transportation physical examination are mandatory.
