This role is for an Automation Systems Specialist to join the Electronics & Industrial (E&I) Maintenance team, delivering essential maintenance support across various operations.
The selected candidate will assist in the management of Automation and Process Control systems, serving as the primary support for operations, maintenance, and automation engineers. The individual will engage in routine and scheduled maintenance tasks alongside vendor and contractor teams, ensuring optimal performance of control systems under the guidance of senior engineering staff.

Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be accountable for:
  • Conducting condition assessments, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Control Systems including DeltaV and Client Fanuc/Allen-Bradley PLCs, VFDs, and communication networks.
  • Hands-on expertise with DeltaV systems and PLCs.
  • Executing software maintenance for all relevant systems.
  • Maintaining password security for all Control systems and managing access levels.
  • Ensuring adequate inventory of spare parts for Control Systems and related technologies.
  • Coordinating with other departments to synchronize maintenance activities.
  • Managing vendor and contractor operations safely and effectively.
  • Implementing emergency protocols as required.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe work environment in accordance with site safety standards.
  • Conducting safety hazard evaluations prior to commencing work to mitigate risks.
  • Adhering to safe work permit and lock-out/tag-out procedures to ensure equipment safety.
  • Participating in maintenance reliability initiatives and processes.
  • Calibrating, installing, and maintaining electrical/electronic devices, pneumatic control systems, and associated technologies.
  • Contributing to the design, implementation, and programming of control systems for equipment upgrades and new installations.
  • Demonstrating the ability to:
    • Work with advanced electronic equipment and high-tech systems.
    • Analyze systems and processes to identify and implement necessary corrections.
    • Utilize problem-solving skills effectively.
    • Develop and maintain control systems software, including PLCs, DCS, and drives.
  • Possessing a general understanding of the assigned process area, its procedures, and associated hazards.
  • Utilizing computer skills for feedback to various maintenance systems, using current CMMS or as directed by management.
  • Assisting fellow A&PC team members as required to complete tasks.
  • Documenting history and reviewing/upgrading maintenance strategies for assets.
  • Troubleshooting issues impacting manufacturing processes.
  • Being available for on-call support during off-hours as needed.
  • Identifying opportunities for improvement, including design modifications and preventive maintenance enhancements.
  • Engaging with production operators to understand and address issues and concerns effectively.
  • Exhibiting strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with individuals at all organizational levels.
  • Being a self-starter, capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Prioritizing and organizing work efficiently.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • A minimum of a High School diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent is required.
  • At least 2 years of industrial maintenance experience in electrical and instrumentation maintenance.
  • Control Equipment/electrical technician apprenticeship certification or licensed electrician status.
  • Ability to meet operational safety standards.
  • Familiarity with personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety protocols.
  • General computer proficiency, particularly with Microsoft software tools.
  • Physical demands include frequent lifting/moving of up to 50 pounds, standing, walking, sitting, using tools, reaching, climbing, and various physical activities.
Work Schedule:
  • Availability to work all scheduled shifts.
  • Day shift hours are from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
  • Potential for overtime hours based on business needs.
