Key Responsibilities

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

  • Collaborating with project leadership and various disciplines to ensure clarity on automation requirements and project scope.
  • Creating comprehensive automation design documentation and testing strategies to align with established technical methodologies and functional specifications.
  • Troubleshooting hardware issues effectively.
  • Addressing technical inquiries and concerns through engagement with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Designing innovative solutions that fulfill performance, reliability, serviceability, cost, and manufacturability criteria.
  • Assessing and validating the selection of materials/components based on performance, cost, and manufacturability.
  • Working alongside cross-functional teams to achieve subsystem and system verification.
  • Evaluating and prioritizing essential business tasks with limited information.
  • Conceptualizing, engineering, and executing detailed designs for controls, safety, and power circuits related to process automation.
  • Utilizing CAD tools to create electrical schematics, pneumatic systems, and panel layouts for automation systems according to specifications.
  • Generating specifications from diverse sources, including creating them from scratch as necessary.
Essential Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related STEM field, along with over 15 years of experience in process automation within a regulated environment.
  • A thorough understanding and extensive hands-on experience with system and hardware integration.
  • Experience with stage-gate engineering design methodologies.
  • The ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
  • Strong cross-functional teamwork, coordination, and communication skills, along with experience in developing IEC and NFPA-style electrical schematics.
  • Familiarity with government-regulated industries such as GMP and GAMP.
