Position Title: Safety Manager
Position Overview: We are in search of a Safety Manager with a solid background in Commercial Construction. This role is pivotal in ensuring the safety and compliance of our operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee adherence to corporate environmental health and safety policies and procedures, ensuring safe work practices are implemented.
- Assess the effectiveness of administrative controls aimed at safeguarding employee health and safety while meeting client requirements.
- Conduct site visits to ensure compliance with regulatory standards (including OSHA, DOT, EPA) and corporate safety protocols; provide detailed reports and recommendations to field leadership.
- Act as a liaison for employees to address health and safety policy concerns.
- Monitor and analyze injury and incident metrics to identify trends and recommend effective hazard controls.
- Investigate workplace accidents and injuries, providing actionable recommendations for improvement.
- Evaluate accident reports and incident trends based on factual data; propose evidence-based safety performance objectives.
- Supervise driver safety protocols.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations, including OSHA recordkeeping and reporting requirements.
- Assist in obtaining necessary work permits as required.
- Oversee safety training content and completion.
- Conduct safety orientation for new hires.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in environmental health and safety or a related field is required.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in the construction industry, with a preference for mechanical, electrical, or plumbing backgrounds.
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA and EPA standards relevant to construction.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong ability to train, influence, and motivate team members.
- Willingness to travel as needed (25 to 30 percent).
