Position OverviewThe WSLCB's Finance Division is seeking a Records Management Specialist (Forms and Records Analyst 3) based in Olympia, WA.
This role reports to the Public Records Manager and is responsible for effectively managing public disclosure requests in accordance with the Public Records Act (PRA).
Key responsibilities include:
- Responding to public records requests and legal discovery.
- Preserving, archiving, and managing agency records in compliance with retention schedules.
- Assisting the Public Records Manager with policy development related to records management.
- Providing technical assistance and training on public disclosure processes.
- Resolving complex issues related to records management.

As a Records Management Specialist, you will:
- Respond to public records requests within established timelines.
- Coordinate searches for records and track the processing of requests.
- Determine the responsiveness of records and manage redactions as necessary.
- Prepare records for release and communicate with requesters regarding any charges.
- Maintain accurate records in tracking logs and ensure proper filing of requests.
- Consult with staff regarding public disclosure requests and oversee archiving processes.
- Research agency records for retention and destruction compliance.
- Develop procedures for records management and assist with audits.
Experience can be gained through various combinations of professional employment and education:
- High School Diploma or GED with six years of relevant experience.
- Associate's degree with four years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor's degree with two years of relevant experience.
Advanced knowledge of the Public Records Act and litigation discovery processes is desirable, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
