Job Title: Prevention Specialist

Job Summary:

Child & Adolescent Behavioral Health is seeking a skilled Prevention Specialist to join our team. As a Prevention Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing supportive interventions, consultation, and behavioral health prevention groups for children and adolescents in participating service programs throughout Stark County.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide supportive interventions with children and adolescents.
  • Implement strength-based resiliency and skill-building curriculum for indicated and/or selected populations in various programs and schools.
  • Provide consultation and behavior intervention services by request.
  • Develop and run parent-child events to support social/emotional development and parent education around behavior management, resiliency, and behavioral health prevention.
  • Provide guardian consultations and strengthen guardian involvement.
  • Maintain accurate records of service delivery and timely completion of paperwork.
  • Promote a climate that fosters resiliency and positive social, emotional, and behavioral development.
  • Attend collaborative team meetings to create positive change within the community.
  • Attend continuing education opportunities to obtain and/or maintain the Ohio Certified Prevention Specialist Licensure and/or CDCA licensure.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of college in Child Development, Education, Psychology, or a related field; Bachelor's degree with licensure preferred (RA, OCPSA, OCPS, OCPC, LSW, LISW, LPC, LPCC, MFT, Nursing, Ohio issued teaching license) along with a minimum of two years' experience working with children and/or adolescents.
