As a Component Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our Research, Development, and Supply Chain teams. Your expertise will be essential in managing electrical, mechanical, electromechanical, and optical components. Collaboration with New Product Development (NPD) Engineering, Research, and Strategic Sourcing teams will be key as you navigate component specifications, selection, qualification, and management processes.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct thorough reviews of the component database to address obsolescence, lead time challenges, product enhancements, and cost reduction initiatives.
- Evaluate Supplier Product Change Notifications (PCNs) and Manufacturing Change Notifications, while supporting supplier audits.
- Proactively monitor and resolve lifecycle issues, assisting engineering and supply chain teams in identifying suitable substitutes for electronic and electromechanical components.
- Identify alternative parts from various suppliers that meet the required specifications.
- Ensure compliance with REACH and RoHS regulations for all components and system-level assemblies.
- Perform risk analysis and maintenance of the component database.
Essential Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in Component Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Familiarity with component risk and obsolescence management tools.
- Ability to interpret electronic component specifications and technical drawings.
- Knowledge of regulatory standards such as RoHS, REACH, and PFAS.
- Experience in product development and lifecycle management.
- Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to thrive in a diverse, cross-functional team environment.
