Role Description:
As a Component Engineer, you will play a vital role in providing engineering support to our Research, Development, and Supply Chain teams, focusing on electrical, mechanical, electromechanical, and optical components. You will collaborate closely with New Product Development (NPD) Engineering, Research, and Strategic Sourcing teams to ensure excellence in component specifications, selection, qualification, and management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough scrubbing of the component database to address obsolescence, lead time challenges, product enhancements, and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Review supplier Product Change Notifications (PCNs) and Manufacturing Change Notifications, and support supplier audits.
  • Identify and resolve lifecycle issues while assisting engineering and supply chain teams in finding suitable substitutes for electronic and electromechanical components (EOL/LTB/NRND, PCNs, etc.).
  • Source alternative parts from different suppliers that meet exact form, fit, and function requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with REACH and RoHS regulations for all components and system-level assemblies.
  • Perform risk analysis and maintenance of the component database.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Component Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Proficiency in using component risk and obsolescence management tools (e.g., Silicon Expert, Z2Data).
  • Ability to read and interpret electronic component specifications and technical drawings.
  • Familiarity with regulations such as RoHS, REACH, and PFAS.
  • Experience in product development and lifecycle management.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to thrive in a diverse, cross-functional team environment.
