Role Overview: The Academic Support Specialist plays a crucial role in enhancing the educational experience by providing essential technical, administrative, and instructional assistance in the development and management of academic programs and student services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer professional and technical support to school administrators, educators, and staff in executing instructional and student support initiatives.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of academic programs and student support activities at the school level.
  • Support the implementation of new educational standards and initiatives aimed at improving instructional quality and student services.
  • Provide guidance and assistance to instructional staff as needed.
  • Coordinate and facilitate specific educational programs and projects as assigned.
  • Plan and conduct professional development workshops or presentations.
  • Conduct research and analyze data to prepare insightful reports and recommendations.
  • Interpret and communicate program-specific standards and guidelines effectively.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of various programs and activities, ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the development and management of grant proposals and related activities.
  • Adhere to all equal employment and nondiscrimination policies while following relevant laws and professional standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; a Master's degree may be required for certain roles.
  • Possession of a valid professional teaching certificate.
  • A minimum of one year of teaching or related experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective interpersonal and organizational abilities.
  • Proficiency in technical applications, including Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Capability to facilitate communication and coordination among program stakeholders.
  • Skill in data analysis and report preparation.
  • Ability to create and deliver impactful presentations.
