Position Overview
As a vital member of the Student Affairs team, the Retention Specialist/Cohort Tracker plays a crucial role in enhancing student success and graduation rates. This position involves comprehensive tracking and monitoring of students within six-year graduation cohorts, focusing on their academic progress, financial standing, and registration status.

Key Responsibilities
1. **Data Analysis**: Utilize various student information systems to analyze data and identify trends among students who may face challenges in achieving their graduation goals.
2. **Collaboration**: Work closely with campus partners to share insights and develop strategies that support student retention and success.
3. **Resource Utilization**: Leverage on-campus technologies to aggregate and assess student data, ensuring timely interventions for those at risk of academic failure or withdrawal.
4. **Communication Planning**: Design outreach templates and communication strategies for academic advisors and other stakeholders to foster positive student outcomes.
5. **Reporting**: Generate detailed reports and spreadsheets to keep advisors and retention teams informed about student progress and trends.
6. **Meetings and Workshops**: Facilitate discussions with departments to share findings from student success data and explore best practices for supporting students.
7. **Course Schedule Verification**: Confirm and review course schedules for enrolled students, ensuring alignment with degree requirements and addressing any discrepancies.
8. **Partnership Development**: Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with various campus offices to enhance support for students.
9. **Advocacy**: Represent student interests by advocating for policy changes and exceptions when necessary, backed by data-driven insights.
10. **Advisor Support**: Assist academic advisors in navigating university policies and procedures, ensuring students receive the guidance they need.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred.
- Minimum of three years of relevant experience in student support or higher education.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data management.
- Excellent communication abilities, both verbal and written.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive educational environment.

Work Environment
