WORKING HOURS

  • Monday to Friday, 7:45 AM - 2:45 PM

POSITION SUMMARY
* Collaborate with the Teacher and Assistant Teacher to facilitate instruction and evaluation for students with developmental disabilities and/or emotional and behavioral challenges, adhering to individual IEPs and the Common Core State Standards.
* Implement behavioral plans and protocols as outlined, utilizing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) methodologies.
* Employ effective behavior management techniques and follow approved physical intervention protocols as trained.
* Provide direct support to assigned students in acquiring academic and social-emotional skills; assist with daily living activities and medical needs; and support behavior management in various settings.
* Encourage peer interactions and promote the generalization of skills across different environments, fostering student independence.
* Adapt academic, socio-emotional, and behavioral tasks and materials to align with student needs as directed by the teacher and Behavior Resource team.
* Collect and document data accurately and promptly.
* Adhere to classroom routines and implement proactive classroom management strategies as established by the teacher.
* Support student fitness activities, including water-based programs, as per the school’s curriculum.
* Prepare and utilize educational materials to enhance student learning and assist in the integration of technology in instruction.
* Actively participate in classroom meetings, training sessions, and school-wide events as required.
* Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
* High school diploma or GED is mandatory
* Full COVID vaccination and flu shot are required
* Previous experience with children who have developmental disabilities is preferred.
