This position emphasizes the facilitation and coordination of activities essential for the effective instruction of ELs, while also offering professional guidance to educators and ensuring the successful delivery of academic programs at the school level.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver professional and technical support to school administrators, educators, and staff regarding the execution of instructional programs for ELs, alongside operational management of student services.
- Assist in the planning and execution of academic and support programs specifically designed for ELs.
- Support the implementation of new educational initiatives and standards aimed at enhancing instructional quality and student services for ELs.
- Provide guidance and assistance to instructional staff as needed.
- Coordinate and facilitate specific educational programs and projects as assigned.
- Design and deliver professional development sessions for both ESOL and non-ESOL staff.
- Conduct research and analyze data to prepare insightful reports and recommendations.
- Interpret and communicate program-specific standards and guidelines effectively.
- Monitor and evaluate various programs and activities, ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Assist in the development and management of grant proposals and related activities.
- Adhere to all equal employment and nondiscrimination policies while promoting a respectful and inclusive environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; a Master's degree may be necessary for certain roles.
- Valid professional certification from the Maryland State Department of Education with a teaching endorsement.
- Certification in ESOL or relevant experience working with English Learners.
- A minimum of five years of experience in ESOL teaching or a related field.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Effective interpersonal and organizational abilities.
- Proficiency in technical applications, including Microsoft Office.
- Capability to build and maintain effective relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
- Aptitude for facilitating positive communication and coordination among educators and staff.
- Ability to analyze data and prepare comprehensive reports.
- Skill in preparing and delivering impactful presentations.
Employment Type: Full-time
