Position Summary
The Northeast Regional Office of the National Park Service is seeking skilled Information Technology (IT) support professionals to address various technical challenges faced by personnel within the agency. We are looking to fill three full-time roles that will provide comprehensive IT assistance across multiple locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver both in-person and telephonic support for desktop hardware, software, and connectivity issues for staff across designated office locations.
- Utilize a centralized web-based help desk system to log and manage all IT support requests.
- Diagnose and resolve technical problems, escalating complex issues to specialized IT personnel when necessary.
- Manage end-user accounts and network configurations in accordance with established guidelines.
- Install, configure, and upgrade computer hardware and software, ensuring compliance with organizational standards.
- Conduct training sessions on network security protocols for new employees.
- Prepare user manuals and technical documentation as required.
- Participate in regular meetings to discuss ongoing projects and support strategies.
- Respond to security alerts and implement remediation actions as directed.
Technical Expertise Required
- Proven experience in IT support, particularly within environments similar to National Parks.
- Familiarity with a variety of hardware and software, including Microsoft Office Suite, Windows operating systems, and various network protocols.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with users of varying technical abilities.
- Ability to lift and move computer equipment as necessary.
Qualifications
- A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, along with at least five years of relevant experience.
- Experience in developing technical documentation and user guides.
