Position Objective:

The primary goal of this role is to deliver exceptional customer service by surpassing client expectations through advanced interpersonal skills, comprehensive product knowledge, and effective problem-solving techniques. This position acts as a vital link between various departments, including Sales, Accounts Receivable, and Operations, to guarantee customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with customers, the sales team, and other departments to provide detailed information regarding products and services, including quotes, order processing, confirmations, and addressing customer inquiries.
  • Investigate and respond to customer inquiries, prioritizing urgent issues to ensure timely resolution.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of lead times, product specifications, pricing, and shipping schedules to facilitate accurate customer interactions.
  • Document customer interactions and transactions, ensuring all details of inquiries, complaints, and resolutions are recorded in the appropriate systems.
  • Assist in the setup of new customers in the system, collaborating with the credit and collections team to process applications.
  • Update and maintain customer master files, ensuring accuracy in contact information, pricing, and specific customer requirements.
  • Support the Credit department in resolving invoice disputes and billing discrepancies.
  • Provide freight estimates as necessary, coordinating with Operations to ensure delivery accuracy.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  1. A high school diploma or equivalent is required; an Associate or Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in customer service or a related field, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial context.
  3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is essential.
  4. Industry knowledge or experience is advantageous.
