About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Box Office Supervisor at the VSU Multi-Purpose Center. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth execution of box office operations, including scheduling and training part-time staff, maintaining daily records of ticketing sales transactions, and utilizing the Ticketmaster ticketing system to process ticket sales for VSU Multi-Purpose Center events.

Responsibilities
  • Scheduling and training part-time box office staff to ensure seamless event execution
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of ticketing sales transactions, including daily sales, deposits, and cash
  • Managing the box office window and phones during given shifts to provide exceptional customer service
  • Utilizing the Ticketmaster ticketing system to process ticket sales for VSU Multi-Purpose Center events
  • Assisting in the enforcement of building policies for patrons to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience
  • Planning and coordinating with part-time staff to create monthly employee schedules based on event schedules
  • Learning about the sports entertainment industry through the eyes of the box office to stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices
  • Maintaining and monitoring back office event information within the Ticketmaster ticketing software
Requirements
  • 2-3 years of experience in an office setting or similar environment
  • Ability to perform effectively under stressful situations and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to define, analyze, and solve problems in a logical and methodical manner
  • Ability to coordinate box office procedures with other staff members and event promoters
  • Ability to work variable hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to safely and accurately handle and account for large sums of money
  • Ability to handle difficult situations with courtesy and tact when dealing with the public and promoters
  • Ability to maintain an effective working relationship with other staff members, event promoters, and the general public
  • Skill in operating modern office equipment, including computers
