**What role will you fulfill?** The Lead Audio-Visual Systems Technician is tasked with executing a diverse array of installation responsibilities on technology projects for our clientele.

This position serves as the primary field role responsible for the majority of the implementation work within our clients' facilities.

The installation technician must collaborate with project management, field supervisors, and others to thoroughly comprehend their responsibilities on specific projects.

They interpret our design documents to establish the foundation of the completed systems. This installation may encompass displays, projectors, loudspeakers, microphones, equipment racks, and more.

The Senior Technician will manage our most intricate system designs, mentor fellow technicians, and exemplify excellence in all job facets.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Exhibit all competencies outlined in the Install Technician and Associate Fabrication Technician job descriptions
  • Direct and assign tasks to installation teams, subcontractors, and union trades. May regularly lead a team on substantial projects
  • Ensure all work adheres to Diversified's and clients' quality control standards. Supervise field operations in scenarios lacking a dedicated on-site supervisor
  • Physically install a variety of technologies in diverse locations
  • Execute various cabling terminations for different wire and connector types, including verifying crew terminations to our standards
  • Assist in preparing equipment racks for staging equipment, including the installation of power strips, grounding bars, and jack-fields
  • Proficiently read and interpret functional design drawings and cable riser diagrams
  • Capable of mounting base build equipment such as monitor mounts, ceiling speakers, microphones, and projectors
  • Maintain a consistent level of technical performance and adaptability in work schedules. This role may require periodic overtime and weekend work to meet client deadlines
  • Complete assignments within or ahead of established task durations and accurately estimate task durations to meet deadlines. Provide daily updates to field site supervisors and/or direct managers
  • Build and wire custom panels based on engineering drawings
  • Advanced handling, installation, termination, repair, and testing of fiber optic cables
  • Generate cable labels and manage all wire listing activities according to our standards
  • Responsible for tracking and maintaining their toolkit, company vehicles, and installation materials inventory. Ensure cleanliness, organization, and thorough documentation. Maintain an on-site job box when applicable
  • Accountable for checking in drop-shipped items and managing on-site materials required by the crew. Collaborate with the project manager to ensure timely delivery of on-site equipment and materials
  • Responsible for tracking and maintaining personal licenses, certifications, and qualifications. (Some states have specific requirements in this area)
  • Maintain a daily record of time worked on specific projects for timesheet entry, as well as an employee/contractor information log to share with management

**Complexity:**
This technician level will perform tasks on client job sites with minimal supervision. This position requires coordination with clients, contractors, and subcontractors.

This role will often be the sole senior field supervisor and will be responsible for delegating work, monitoring others' performance, and communicating with key stakeholders on behalf of the project manager.

This position demands the highest level of technical and interpersonal skills.

**Decision-Making Authority:**

This role frequently operates independently on job sites and must exercise sound judgment regarding necessary decisions. Generally, the project manager and a site supervisor are available for inquiries. This position requires independent decision-making on-site on behalf of the project manager and necessitates good diplomacy when interacting with clients and other key stakeholders.



**Physical Demands:**
The physical demands described here are representative of those that may be encountered by an employee. The employee may regularly be exposed to construction site conditions.

Employees are responsible for their safety while on job sites and must comply with all safety regulations established by the general contractor.

The use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is typically required on job sites.

Employees can expect to spend at least 50% of their time on their feet and will need to move around construction sites.

Employees must occasionally climb ladders, use stairs, and lift and/or move materials weighing up to 40 pounds in construction areas.

Individuals are regularly required to use keyboards, test equipment, and controls necessary for installation projects. Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

When not on construction sites, employees will work in standard office conditions and will be required to use office equipment such as computers and peripherals.


**Travel Requirements:**
Frequent travel by car and occasional air travel are necessary. Employees must possess a valid driver's license in their state of residence.

Employees will be required to use their own vehicle and will be reimbursed for mileage at the current corporate rate.

Local travel to job sites (within a 2-hour driving distance each way) will constitute 70-90% of the role, while remote travel can account for up to 30% at times. Regular remote travel of 10% is expected.



**Safety Protocols:**
  • Maintain and wear appropriate PPE as required by the job and tasks.
  • Ensure hazards are identified and addressed promptly.

**Qualifications and Certifications Required:**
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent. An Associate's or Bachelor's degree is required, along with equivalent experience
  • Proficient with LED Video Walls and Builds (Planar, Samsung, Christies, Unilumin, Multi Taction) is essential
  • A minimum of 5 years as an installation technician or related industry experience is required
  • Experience in leading or managing a team or project is essential.
  • AVIXA CTS Certification is preferred; AVIXA CTS-I Certification is highly desired
  • A valid driver's license and adherence to insurance requirements are mandatory
  • OSHA 30 Certificate is required.

**Desired Knowledge, Experience, and Skills:**
  • Familiarity with a broad range of audio, video, and networking equipment
  • Knowledge of low voltage electrical concepts
  • Advanced carpentry and/or installation skills
  • Proficient use and safety with power tools
  • Strong verbal communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues.
