POSITION SUMMARY

The Financial Planning Analyst is responsible for evaluating financial data, generating reports, and formulating recommendations for upper management. This role plays a crucial part in enhancing the operational and financial efficiency of Concessions International. The analyst will be key in the month-end closing activities of the business unit and will create financial projections for anticipated business advancements and expansion.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conducts financial analyses as requested by senior leadership to aid in strategic business decisions.
  • Develops financial projections for both new and existing business models to assess financial viability.
  • Implements studies to analyze the costs associated with business operations and suggests budget modifications and cost-saving strategies.
  • Designs and maintains financial models that influence business outcomes. Evaluates and performs cost-benefit analyses related to various projects and initiatives.
  • Generates financial reports for forecasting, trend analysis, and performance evaluation.
  • Examines assumptions, revenue impacts, and operational consequences.
  • Prepares financial statements, manages month-end closing processes, records journal entries, reconciles balance sheets, intercompany accounts, and other related monthly tasks.
  • Supports management in month-end closing responsibilities.
  • Conducts statistical, cost, and financial analyses of reports and data, providing narrative insights for management.
  • Utilizes various software tools, including spreadsheets, relational databases, and statistical applications, to compile, manipulate, and format data and reports.
  • Establishes and nurtures effective professional relationships with business partners and cross-functional teams, offering analytical support for monitoring key business drivers.
  • May lead or assist with special projects as assigned within accounting or operations.
  • Demonstrates strong attention to detail and the ability to perform under tight deadlines.
  • Contributes to the development of operational policies, processes, and guidelines for accounting functions.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:

The qualifications outlined below are essential for successfully executing the primary duties and responsibilities.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related discipline from an accredited institution, along with a minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in the field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Experience in the food service or retail sector is advantageous.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • In-depth understanding of financial and accounting principles and systems.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to convey financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access database.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Capability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Strong interpersonal, team-building, and leadership abilities; adept at collaborating effectively with others.
