Introduction

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Care Practitioner to join our team at Methodist Hospital Hill Country. As a vital part of our patient care team, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care.

Responsibilities

As a Respiratory Care Practitioner, you will be responsible for:

  • Performing and documenting patient assessments, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
  • Conducting diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, respiratory therapy.
  • Administering respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
  • Assisting with placement of artificial airways and initiating, monitoring, and maintaining mechanical ventilation.
  • Monitoring patients for therapeutic response and notifying providers and intervening as appropriate in the event of an unintended response.
  • Assisting with transportation of ventilator-dependent patients and responding to emergent patient situations.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of employment start date.
  • RRT/Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT / RCP) certification.
  • State Registered Respiratory Therapist certification.
  • An Associate Degree, Certificate, Bachelor's Degree, or Master's Degree in Respiratory Therapy or a related field.
