Position Summary and Qualifications
The Respiratory Care Pract is responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-focused respiratory services, adhering to departmental protocols and state regulations. As an integral member of the healthcare team, the Respiratory Care Pract performs various diagnostic assessments and therapeutic interventions while monitoring patients on both invasive and non-invasive ventilation. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct and document thorough patient assessments, including breath sounds and airway conditions.
- Administer respiratory therapies such as oxygen delivery and aerosol treatments.
- Assist in the placement of artificial airways and manage mechanical ventilation.
- Monitor patient responses to therapies and communicate with healthcare providers as necessary.
- Facilitate the safe transport of patients requiring ventilatory support.
- Respond effectively to emergency situations, ensuring airway integrity and adequate ventilation.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of employment.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or equivalent.
- State licensure as a Registered Respiratory Therapist.
- Educational background: Associate Degree, Certificate, Bachelor's Degree, or relevant vocational training.
