The Respiratory Care Practitioner plays a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care at Methodist Hospital Hill Country. As a key member of the healthcare team, this professional coordinates and administers respiratory care therapies to patients with respiratory disorders.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough patient assessments to determine the need for respiratory therapy and monitor patient response to treatment.
- Administer oxygen therapy, aerosol medication, and chest physiotherapy as prescribed by physicians.
- Assist with the placement of artificial airways and initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
- Monitor patients for therapeutic response and notify physicians of any unintended responses.
- Transport ventilator-dependent patients and respond to emergent patient situations.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of employment start date.
- RRT/Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT / RCP) certification.
- State Registered Respiratory Therapist.
- Associate Degree, or Certificate, or Bachelors Degree, or Masters Degree, or Vocational School Graduate.
