Job Overview

Position Summary: The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Compliance Specialist II is responsible for developing comprehensive health and safety protocols and associated training resources. This role includes the delivery of training sessions tailored for various levels of management and staff, ensuring that all personnel are aware of their responsibilities regarding the organization's EHS initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement safety training programs aimed at achieving full engagement in EHS practices across the organization.
  • Conduct training on essential topics such as behavior-based safety (BBS), ergonomics, risk assessment, machine guarding, and employee involvement.
  • Ensure adherence to all regulatory standards, including OSHA and EPA guidelines, as well as local and state regulations.
  • Facilitate risk assessments, guiding teams through the evaluation process, risk quantification, and prioritization of necessary actions.
  • Act as a resource for EHS-related inquiries and activities within the plant.
  • Perform or coordinate inspections of safety practices, equipment, and programs to verify compliance with regulatory requirements and promote risk management.
  • Engage in incident investigations, providing management with recommendations for corrective measures.
  • Document findings and collaborate with management to formulate action plans addressing identified deficiencies.
  • Assist in conducting health and safety compliance audits, including preparation, facility assessments, and the generation of clear and concise reports.

Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent.
