Position Overview: NEI Infrastructure Technical Sales Representatives (ITSR) engage collaboratively with engineers, designers, landscape architects, contractors, agencies, and government officials to facilitate solution and specification development, offer technical support, and utilize problem-solving abilities to enhance NEI product sales.

Reporting Structure: Under the guidance of the Regional Sales Director (RSD) and/or District Sales Manager (DSM), the ITSR is responsible for promoting and selling NEI's products to both established and prospective customers and distributors within a designated geographic area.

Autonomy and Collaboration: In partnership with the RSD/DSM, Inside Sales, Product Engineering, and Product Management, the ITSR operates with a moderate degree of independence to meet sales objectives and ensure customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a collaborative member of the NEI Infrastructure team to market company products.
  • Conduct both in-person and virtual professional sales presentations to secure favorable specifications for our offerings.
  • Utilize Salesforce and other tools to manage leads, issue quotations, and communicate effectively with the broader team.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies and initiatives to drive profitable growth and expansion of NEI Infrastructure products.
  • Continuously assess pricing, distribution, market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to identify new opportunities for NEI Infrastructure.
  • Recommend the development of new products/services and strategies for enhanced market penetration based on thorough market analysis.
  • Gather market intelligence, analyze data, and provide actionable recommendations through appropriate channels.
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of the customer base within the sales territory, including municipalities, contractors, engineers, supply houses, distributors, OEMs, and competitors, to inform sales planning and forecasting.
  • Submit weekly call reports and engage in discussions regarding current activities during weekly conference calls.
  • Investigate customer complaints and claims through on-site visits, collaborating with the NEI team to identify causes and develop resolutions.
  • Assist the Credit and Collections Manager as needed to resolve accounts receivable issues.
  • Actively participate in industry-related associations to foster and maintain key networking and business relationships.

  • Business Acumen: Capability to develop sales strategies and implement effective business plans.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and experienced in using CRM tools (Salesforce).
  • Civil Infrastructure Knowledge (Preferred): Ability to read and interpret civil design drawings, engineering production drawings, and project plans to recommend solutions and create material take-offs.

Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Business or Civil/Mechanical/Environmental Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A minimum of 2-4 years of successful face-to-face sales experience is required.

Licenses/Certifications: A current state-issued driver's license with a clean driving record is necessary.

Physical Requirements: This role involves sedentary work, requiring the exertion of up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.

Travel Requirements: Up to 80% travel throughout the designated sales region is expected, with minimal overnight travel required for trade shows or internal meetings.
