Facilities Engineer I

The City of Chesapeake Public Works Department is looking for a dedicated individual to fill the role of Engineer I within our Facilities Maintenance Division.

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversees small to medium-scale maintenance initiatives.
- Implements repair and enhancement projects, including roof renovations, pavement and sidewalk restoration, generator and HVAC upgrades, security enhancements, and more at municipal facilities.
- Collaborates with consultants, architecture and engineering firms, and regulatory officials to create engineering analyses and designs for various facility projects.
- Engages with City stakeholders to plan and execute renovations in municipal buildings.
- Partners with the Purchasing Department to formulate and update specifications for IDIQ maintenance contracts (plumbing, HVAC, electrical, etc.).
