Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Field Engineer I, II to join our team at Prism Maritime, LLC. As a key member of our Alteration Installation Team (AIT), you will be responsible for applying your expertise in HVAC, Piping, and Valve systems to support our clients in the US Maritime and Shore-based sectors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cost Estimation and Development: Support the development of cost estimates for HVAC system work, including ductwork fabrication and installation, and chill water systems.
  • Installation Drawing Comprehension: Demonstrate proficiency in understanding Installation Drawings and applicable NAVSEA Standard Items.
  • Supervision and Leadership: Supervise HVAC and Piping System installation as a working lead, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to industry standards.
  • Design Package Development: Assist in the development of Installation Design Packages, including technical documentation and reports.
  • Problem Identification and Resolution: Identify problem areas, analyze, and report on equipment and systems failures, and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Test and Checkout Procedures: Assist in the development of test and checkout procedures for systems and equipment.
  • Equipment and Material Selection: Research and select applicable equipment and materials for installation and production.
  • Technical Support and Training: Provide technical expertise and support on installation and production, conduct pre and post-installation testing, and provide training on systems and equipment.
  • Configuration Audits: Conduct configuration audits to ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: A Bachelor's degree in HVAC Engineering, Management, or a related field, with a minimum of one year of experience in the removal, installation, and repair of shipboard HVAC/Piping systems, or an Associate's degree with six years of experience, or 10 years of related experience.
  • Certifications and Licenses: Possession of a Fire watch certification and a valid Driver's license.
  • Security Clearance: Clearance up to Secret level may be required.
Physical and Environmental Job Requirements

The physical requirements for this job include lifting/moving up to 50 pounds, routinely climbing several flights of stairs, and performing tasks in confined spaces. The work environment may include variables of physical activity, such as stooping, climbing, walking, etc. You may be required to work outdoors and experience temperature variations, extremely loud noises, and other physical hazards.
