Job Title: Mental Health Professional: Denver County Jail Women's Unit

We are seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Professional to join our team at The Empowerment Program Inc. in Denver County Jail Women's Unit.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting trauma education groups, basic intakes, comprehensive intakes (biopsychosocial assessments) and trauma assessments in a recovery unit in Denver County Jail. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in trauma recovery and the many avenues of healing from trauma and substance use disorder.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate and co-facilitate groups addressing trauma and substance use disorder with women incarcerated in Denver County Jail
  • Create participant-driven treatment and transition plans
  • Provide brief therapy, care management and transition planning services for women incarcerated in the Denver County Jail
  • Administer informed consent forms, disclosure statements and assessments
  • Enter data in compliance with JBBS and OBH standards
  • Identify and connect participants with appropriate referrals to community mental health and supportive services providers
Requirements:
  • Licensed (LAC, LPC, LCSW, CAC III) or, on a case-by-case basis, working towards licensure with provided learning plan, and in good standing with the Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA)
  • Reliable vehicle, valid driver's license and insurance
  • Working understanding of harm reduction theory and trauma-informed services
  • Experience working with a diverse population with behavioral health needs
Benefits:
  • $60,000 start with master's degree
  • $3,000 for Clinical License (LPC/LCSW)
  • $6,000 for LAC (split $3,000 for CAS/CAT and $3,000 LAC if obtained at different times)
